Adriano Goldschmied is an Italian fashion designer who breathes Denim Jeans. He is the design genius behind “Premium Denim” brands and manufacturers such as Diesel, Replay, Gap 1969, AG Adriano Goldschmied, Koos Manufacturing Inc and is currently directing Goldsign and men’s Citizens of Humanity.
The “Godfather" of Denim as some refer to him, Goldschmied was born in 1944 in Trieste to an Ashkenazi Jewish family, whose assets were appropriated in 1942. Later, some of these assets were reconveyed to his family. His passion and innovation have paved the way for designer Denim and have remained unparalleled in a distinguished career spanning almost 40 years. Goldschmied took the jean from work wear and made them fashionable, a style of life available to everybody.
